METAPOLIS aims to develop a roadmap for a reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050. While cities are responsible for at least 70% of total GHG emissions, they are also at the forefront of efforts to reduce emissions. METAPOLIS revisits the concept of urban metabolism moving beyond a mechanical input-output model to focus on conflicts among urban actors over its governing.
